I would like to start a legitimate discussion about the harmful health effects caused by the toxic chemical ingredients in our personal care products.  Ingredients in cosmetics, shampoo, lotions and skin care products have been linked to cancer, reproductive problems, endocrine disruption and other harmful health effects.  

The companies that manufacture these products show a blatant disregard for the health of their customers, and the government has failed to protect the consumer in this arena.  Cosmetic ingredients are not regulated by the federal government, and the cosmetic manufacturers are allowed to regulate themselves using a panel they select, called the Cosmetic Industry Review.  This is the wolves guarding the sheep, so to speak, and it has resulted in allowing toxic and harmful ingredients to be included in products that we use every day.
